Call for Special Sessions Papers – IEEE ICSIPA 2017

CFP Special Sessions @ IEEE ICSIPA 2017 | 12-14 September 2017 | Kuching, Malaysia

The 2017 IEEE International Conference on Signal and Image Processing Applications (IEEE ICSIPA 2017,  http://spsocmalaysia.org/icsipa2017), organized by the IEEE Signal Processing Society Malaysia Chapter (twice recipient of SPS Chapter of the Year Award), provides a platform for researchers to present and discuss the latest technological advances in the fields of applied signal, image and video processing. IEEE ICSIPA 2017 will be held on 12-14 September 2017 in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia.  Papers presented in all previous IEEE ICSIPA conferences are indexed in IEEE Xplore, and listed in SCOPUS and ISI Web of Science. The conference is listed in IEEE SPS Conference Call for Paper Digest (http://signalprocessingsociety.org/uploads/email/cfp_digest_02_17_17.html).

 

IEEE ICSIPA 2017 is seeking original Special Session paper submissions addressing innovative research in upcoming fields of signal, image and video processing. Papers are solicited for the following Special Sessions:

 Synopsis

Web 2.0 technologies bring the web to a new phase, which allows users not only to use information but also to be directly involved in generating new information. Social Media as one of the Web 2.0 tools allow social interaction and easy creation of content by users. It can be an effective tool for teaching and learning in higher education. It can help connect students to information and help them generate a dialogue with their teacher and other students about a course. Blog is another Web 2.0 facilities which is easy to create and offers variety of interactive facilities. It could give positive impact towards student’s development. This course revealed to academic staff on how to utilize social media and learning and Blog for teaching and learning effectively.

 

LEARNING OUTCOMES

 

Participants will seek to:

  • Explain the function and role of Social Media and Blog for teaching and learning purpose.
  • Produce substance and learning activity using Social media and Blog facilities.
  • Integrate Social media and Blog with e-learning@UTM system.

IEEE SPS Research Excellence Awards

Dear All Researchers and Supervisors in Signal & Image Processing,

Applications are open for the Research Excellence Awards by the IEEE Signal Processing Society Malaysia Chapter. The awards were initiated to recognize excellent research works conducted in the area of signal processing. Award recipients will be invited to receive the award during the banquet dinner of the chapter’s flagship conference, the 2017 IEEE International Conference on Signal and Image Processing Applications (IEEE ICSIPA 2017) on 13th September 2017 at Kuching, Sarawak (alternative arrangements can be made fo those unable to attend).

The award categories are:

  1. IEEE SPS Malaysia Best PhD Thesis Award 2016,
  2. IEEE SPS Malaysia Best Masters Thesis Award 2016, and
  3. IEEE SPS Malaysia Best Signal Processing Journal Paper Award 2016.

Asia Simulation Conference is an annual simulation conference organized by Asian simulation societies – KSS (Korea Society for Simulation), CSF (China Simulation Federation), JSST (Japan Society for Simulation Technology), Singapore, and Malaysia Simulation Society (MSS). This conference provides a forum for scientist, academicians, and professionals from around the world to promote the advancement of modeling and simulation in industry, research and development. In this regard, the Federation of Asia Simulation Societies (ASIASIM) was formed in 2011.

 

AsiaSim 2017 conference will be held in Melaka, Malaysia. Strategically located along the Straits of Malacca, Melaka was once the epicenter of an important trading empire which attracted thousands of traders from all over the world.
