Sakura Program in Meiji University

Technical training of UTM in Meiji University, Ikuta Campus

My students (10 of them) and I went to  Meiji University, school of science and engineering from October 16 to Oct 25 for technical visit and laboratory training .


UTM and Meiji university has very close relationship and this visit strengthen the existing collaboration between both universities. The host of this visit is Professor Kazukiyo Nagai who is professor in Applied Chemistry that actively doing research in membrane technology.


On the first day,  we met with Prof Nagai and his students, Ms Yuko (administrative staff  that arrange this Sakura visit) and the dean of School of Science and Technology. On the second day, Prof Nagai’s students took us for campus tour and a welcome party to experience the culture and tradition of Meiji University.

Starting on the third day, we were divided into groups for laboratory and experimental experience.

On the weekend we went to  UTM Satellite Office, and the museum of Meiji University. Next we were guided for educational tour to National Museum of Science and Technology (Miraikan) where their advancement in science and technology are being exhibited with robots, gadgets and etc.

 

The closing ceremony was held on the last day whereby all of us received the certificate and SAKURA membership.

 

All in all, it is always such a nice experience to visit Japan 🙂
