Dr Abdul Halim Hussein started in Architectural Education in 1980, studying in The Birmingham School of Architecture and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture. Continuing in the same School in 1984, he graduated with a Post Graduate Diploma in Architecture in 1986. He joined the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Built Environment, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in  1986. In 1996 he obtained a Master in Business Administration from Oxford Brookes University and in 2014 a PhD in Architecture with the Thesis “On-line Interdisciplinary Collaboration in Building Design”. In 2015 he was appointed as the Head of Department (Architecture) in UTM. He has conducted numerous undergraduate workbase studios with the Theme of Vernacular Architecture, Community and Social Culture Architecture, High Rise Archirtecture for Offices, Mixed Use and Residentials, Masters in Architecture Social Culture Studios.
