Dr. Ahmad Shahidan bin Abdullah is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Communication Engineering at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). His research centred on leveraging network coding to enhance data reliability and efficiency in wireless sensor networks under lossy or constrained conditions. He developed an on-the-fly data recovery (ODR) scheme using XOR-based network coding for multipath transmission to counteract packet loss. Complementing this, his work investigated multimedia transmission in IEEE 802.15.4-based wireless sensor networks, addressing throughput and energy-efficiency trade-offs. He also undertook a 12-week industrial training to gain practical exposure in the field.
