Dr. Nurul Ashikin is an accomplished academic with a robust track record across electrical, electronics, and optical engineering. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, followed by a Master of Science in Electrical, Electronics, and Information Engineering from the Nagaoka University of Technology. She subsequently advanced her research portfolio by completing a PhD in Engineering at Keio University in 2018.

Leveraging her multidisciplinary expertise, Dr. NurulAshikin currently serves as a Senior Lecturer at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), where she contributes strategically to the Faculty of Electrical Engineering. She is also an active member of the Lightwave Communication Research Group (LCRG), driving research initiatives in optical communication systems, optoelectronics, and nanocavity technologies.

Her academic footprint reflects a commitment to advancing next-generation photonic solutions and delivering high-impact outcomes across teaching, research, and collaborative innovation.
