The publication can be divided into many categories such as index journal, index proceeding, non-index journal, book chapter, research book, others and policy. In your opinion, why they have different categories? Write an essay about these different categories in publication especially for MyRA.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Index and non-index are referred to a search engine style by\nindexing services or not. Example of indexation services are Scopus, MedLine,\nSCIRUS, PubMed, EBSCO, Caspur, DOAJ, Pro Quest, Open J Gate, ISI and etc. Thus, shows that index or\nnon-index publications are different.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Journal is a periodically publication either as monthly, bimonthly,\nyearly, or etc, of which the published manuscripts in the journals are the\ncollections of reviewed papers. Proceedings are the collections of papers which\nhave been presented during conferences and be printed later after month(s) of\nthe conference took placed. The authors must present their works during the\nconference and later the full paper will be printed in the proceedings. Book\nchapter is a division of a piece of writing a specific chapter inside a book\nwhich consisted of a few chapters to be completed and published as a book.\nConsidering the different sections in a book as the different chapters. On the\nother hand, the research book is referred as a critical analysis of the\nresearch which has been properly described into several sections in the same\nbook. While a research policy shows the interaction between innovation,\ntechnology or research which expected to harvest findings or output that have\nimplications or remarkably have a high impact to the nation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Besides, MyRA is the abbreviation of Malaysia Research\nAssessment Instrument. There are 8 elements being measured according to\nMyRA; general information, quantity and quality of researchers, quantity and\nquality of research, quantity and quality of postgraduates, innovation,\nprofessional services and gifts, networking and linkages, and support\nfacilities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under section quantity and quality of research, there are a few subsections\nwhich are publications, grants and fund. Additionally, there are a few\nsub-subsections for publications, which are as follow: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ai. Total number of publications in Scpous\/WoS\/ERA indexed\njournals,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aii. Total number of publications in Scopus\/WOS\/ERA indexed\nconference proceedings,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aiii. Joint Publications,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bi. Total citations of publications,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bii. Number\/percentage of articles published in Q1 and Q2 journals,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

C. Total number of publications in other journals,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Di. Number of research books,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dii. Number of chapters in research books,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

E. Policy papers, and<\/p>\n\n\n\n

F. Other publications (case study, technical reports, articles in\nmagazines, original writings and publications from conferences, digital or\nprint media)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
