KANGAR, July 11 (Bernama) — In its fourth day today, Malaysian National News Agency, Bernama’s Jelajah 1Jiwa Expedition continued its journey to Kelantan after making a stop in Perlis last night.

The convoy of 15 high-powered motorcycles, accompanied by four cars, is in its mission to meet and present contributions to Bernama retirees nationwide, apart from informing the public on Bernama’s actual role in its reporting of domestic and foreign issues for the interest of Malaysians.

In Perlis, the convoy participated in a programme organised by the Raja Muda of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, to meet tithe recipients at the surau of Kampung Benta, Sanglang yesterday.

Its arrival at Kampung Benta was greeted Perlis Bernama bureau chief, Zainal Abdul Jalil and the staff.

The convoy’s chef de mission, Amrizan Madian then explained the aim of the expedition – held in conjunction with Bernama’s 50th anniversary celebration – to Tuanku Syed Faizuddin and the congregation before performing the Maghrib prayers together.

Tuanku Syed Faizuddin, who is also Perlis Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPs) President, then presented the tithes amounting RM31,800, to 53 recipients.

Amrizan, before continuing the expedition to Kelantan earlier today, expressed gratitude that the journey had been smooth, thus far.

“We are expected to arrive in Kelantan this evening and will meet up with several Bernama retirees in the state to hand over the contribution before continuing our journey to Terengganu and Pahang,” he said.
