On Wednesday, Carlo Ancelotti’s Bayern Munich were destroyed 3-0 by PSG at the Parc des Princes.
Surprisingly – just 131 days after lifting the Bundesliga title last season – Ancelotti was given the chop by the club.
It seems like there are deeper issues than just a Champions League group stage loss.
After being dropped to the bench, Arjen Robben failed to back the coach after the defeat in Paris.
There have been ongoing rumours from last season that the players don’t agree with the Italian’s training methods and lax attitude in comparison to his predecessor, Pep Guardiola.
How odd Bayern have sacked Ancelotti, from a job we were told was so easy that all of Pep’s achievements there were rendered irrelevant.

There was plenty of reaction to the sacking on Twitter, with some incredible stats to support the idea that it wasn’t just results that were behind the move:
1 – Yesterday’s defeat against Paris (0-3) was Carlo Ancelotti’s heaviest with Bayern Munchen in all competitions. Fatal. pic.twitter.com/oIERIJq6Wn

Ancelotti’s sacking makes this the earliest in a season Bayern have changed manager since Alfréd Schaffer in 1945. That was because he died.

1 – This is the first time ever that #Bayern have changed their manager during the Oktoberfest. Hangover. #Ancelotti pic.twitter.com/Fhfvn2XmnK

If confirmed, Ancelotti has now left Parma, Juve, Chelsea, PSG, Real Madrid and Bayern during or at end of second full season. Clear pattern

Carlo Ancelotti is another Arsene Wenger. World class in his prime managing but their philosophy is out of date.

Obviously Arsenal fans found a way to make their club relevant to this news story:
Ancelotti fired by ruthless Bayern 5 months after winning League & after beating Arsenal 10-2 in last season’s CL.
Wenger…continues.— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) September 28, 2017
When Bayern Munich fires Carlo Ancelotti after a bad month, but your an Arsenal fan, so you didn’t even know firing a manager was possible. pic.twitter.com/wkxeCdJoM3

They sacked Ancelotti but Mr Wenger survived 9 yrs trophyless. And is still surviving underwhelming results. pic.twitter.com/keCghZ2MGD

Although, this tweet puts the sacking in a positive light for Arsenal supporters:
Carlo Ancelotti is out at Bayern, Julian Nagelsmann the best replacement imo. If Arsenal were smart, they’d line up Ancelotti next for AFC.

Unless Milan lure Ancelotti back to the San Siro:
#Ancelotti sacked most likely to return to Milan if Montella doesn’t improve results

Ancelotti back to Milan in the summer, bet your house on it.

Who knows where the Italian coach’s future will lie?
Despite being sacked by the Bavarian club, Carlo Ancelotti continues to amaze us.
Carlo Ancelotti (Milan 2, Real) and Bob Paisley (Liverpool 3) are the only managers to have won CC/CL record 3 times.
