KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 5 (Bernama) — Takaful Ikhlas Bhd has launched the IKHLAS Basic Term Takaful which provides compensation of up to RM300,000 in the event of death and, total and permanent disability (TPD).
In a statement today, Takaful Ikhlas said the product offered five different types of plans with the contribution amount from as low as RM64 a month, subject to terms and conditions.
President and Chief Executive Officer Datuk Ab Latiff Abu Bakar said the amount to be paid upon death or TPD due to natural causes is up to RM150,000 while for death or TPD due to accident, the company would pay twice the Takaful benefit from the original protection amount.
“The product is the first of its kind to offer additional benefits for death due to dengue, in which an additional 50 per cent of the protection amount will be paid to the nominee or next of kin of the contributor.
“The protection amount eligible to be claimed is up to RM225,000 (based on five selected plans) for death due to the epidemic which is spreading in the country,” he added.
