KUALA LUMPUR, April 3 (Bernama) — Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has expressed his satisfaction to Malaysia’s Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein over the close ties between the two countries.
According to a Bahrain News Agency (BNA) report in Manama on Sunday, King Hamad was also impressed with the close cooperation in various fields of common interest, especially defence and the military.
The King said this during Hishammuddin’s courtesy call on him at Al-Sakhir Palace. Also present during the visit were Bahrain’s Prime Minister Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
King Hamad also expressed his appreciation for Malaysia’s contribution to maintaining peace and prosperity in the region, which has benefited all.
The King said Hishammuddin’s visit to Bahrain had contributed towards strengthening of bilateral relations between the two countries and in enhancing joint coordination.
Also discussed during the meeting were developments pertaining to regional and international issues and other matters of common interest.
Hishamuddin also conveyed the warm greetings and wishes for continued development and harmony from Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Muhammad V and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak to the King and people of Bahrain.
King Hamad reciprocated with similar greetings and wishes, while Hishammuddin also expressed his thanks and appreciation to the former for the close ties and cooperation between the two countries.
