Salesforce Ventures is announcing a $50 million fund to invest in \u201ccloud consulting\u201d startups. The corporate venture arm is making a special effort to finance companies that are synergistic to the tech giant\u2019s business.<\/span><\/p>\n

The team has a \u201cstrong commitment to our consulting partners to make sure that we continue to have the partners that we need to grow Salesforce solutions,\u201d said Matt Garratt of Salesforce Ventures.<\/span><\/p>\n

They\u2019ve already made a few investments from the new SI Trailblazer fund;<\/span> 7Summits<\/span><\/a>, consulting for the social community space;<\/span> Arxxus<\/span><\/a>, an Australian provider of Salesforce professional services; and<\/span> ATG<\/span><\/a> for Quote-to-Cash implementation and advisory.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThese are different businesses that other venture capital firms often don\u2019t invest in,\u201d said Garratt. It\u2019s \u201csuch a big opportunity that we are going to be placing multiple bets here.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

For the new initiative, they will be looking at existing Salesforce consulting partners and searching for new ones.<\/span> Neeracha Taychakhoonavudh, SVP of partner and industry innovation said she is looking to<\/span> \u201cfind opportunities from existing partners and putting together active campaigns to recruit new partners.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

In conjunction with the new fund, they are also launching the SI Trailblazer Alliance Initiative. This a comprehensive suite of services, including sales mentorship and help with implementing Salesforce solutions.<\/span><\/p>\n

Salesforce Ventures still plans to invest in a broader range of companies outside of this fund, ideally \u201centerprise cloud companies with the mandate of building the world\u2019s largest ecosystem,\u201d said Garratt. Exited<\/span> portfolio companies<\/span><\/a> include MuleSoft, Box and Twilio.
