Konta had been due to play Karolina Pliskova on Friday in the Aegon International semi-finals, but has dropped out of the competition to receive treatment.<\/p>\n

The injury comes four days before the start of Wimbledon, where Konta will be making a bid for a first Grand Slam title of her career.<\/p>\n

“Obviously there is Wimbledon coming up next week,” Konta said. “But I made this decision based on my health.”<\/p>\n

Konta beat the world\u2019s top ranked player \u2013 Germany\u2019s Angelique Kerber<\/a> \u2013 on Thursday to continue her strong showing on grass, but suffered a nasty fall during the contest.<\/p>\n
