{"id":397193,"date":"2017-09-05T23:39:00","date_gmt":"2017-09-05T15:39:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.macrumors.com\/2017\/09\/05\/moleskine-new-smart-planner-ical\/"},"modified":"2017-09-05T23:39:00","modified_gmt":"2017-09-05T15:39:00","slug":"moleskine-announces-new-smart-planner-that-will-digitize-appointments-into-apples-icalendar-format","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/people.utm.my\/asmawisham\/moleskine-announces-new-smart-planner-that-will-digitize-appointments-into-apples-icalendar-format\/","title":{"rendered":"Moleskine Announces New Smart Planner That Will Digitize Appointments Into Apple&#8217;s iCalendar Format"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After announcing the &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/us.moleskine.com\/en\/rto\/p0202\">Smart Writing Set<\/a>&#8221; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.moleskine.com\/us\/press-release\/moleskine-unveils-the-smart-writing-s-1\">earlier in February<\/a>, Moleskine today unveiled the newest product in this line, called simply the &#8220;Smart Planner.&#8221; The new planner will allow users to jot down appointments and reminders within a weekly calendar area of the notebook, which will then be automatically digitized and synced to Apple iCalendar or Google Calendar formats (via <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2017\/09\/05\/moleskines-next-paper-planner-will-automatically-sync-with-google-calendar-and-apples-ical\/\"><em>TechCrunch<\/em><\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.macrumors.com\/article-new\/2017\/09\/moleskine-smart-planner-office-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1372\" height=\"911\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-586418\"\/><br \/>Moleskine&#8217;s Smart Writing products work with the help of an invisible grid, made with Ncode technology, that enables the connected Moleskine Pen+ device to recognize where it is on the page and within the notebook. Previous devices in the Smart Writing Set would sync hand-written notes from a paper tablet into the Moleskine Notes app, but the company&#8217;s new Smart Planner is one of the first to introduce direct calendar syncing compatibility.<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"9\">\n<p>Like other Livescribe systems, the Smart Planner as it\u2019s called uses paper embedded with sensors that can read and sync anything written by the Moleskine Pen+. Meetings and appointments written on the planner part of the paper are synced automatically to the user\u2019s Google or Apple account and placed appropriately on their calendar.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><em>TechCrunch<\/em> explained that when users write down meetings and appointments within the planner part of the paper, the notebook and Pen+ intelligently recognize the text as a calendar appointment, and convert it into an entry on the correct date in the user&#8217;s chosen calendar app. This requires both the planner and Pen+, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.moleskine.com\/us\/\">Moleskine<\/a> said it will begin selling a set of the new Smart Planner on September 12 for $199.
