On Saturday evening Girona and Barcelona played their first ever top-flight Catalan derby and Manchester City youngster Pablo Maffeo was tasked with marking Lionel Messi.<\/p>\n

This wasn\u2019t a usual man-marking job, he actually followed Messi everywhere across the pitch, even when he swapped sides or went deeper.<\/p>\n

After the game Maffeo was asked about this experience to which he replied \u201c\u201dHe asked me two things: if I was on loan from Man City and how old I was.\u201d<\/p>\n
