Here&#8217;s how it works:<\/p>\n<h2>Starting a Project &#8211; Downloading Apps<\/h2>\n<p><\/p>\n<ol>\n <\/p>\n<li>Open Photos on Mac.<\/li>\n<p> <\/p>\n<li>Scroll down to &#8220;My Projects.&#8221;<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/cdn.macrumors.com\/article-new\/2017\/09\/photosprojects-800x665.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"665\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-593610\" \/><\/li>\n<p> <\/p>\n<li>Click on &#8220;Go to App Store.&#8221;<\/li>\n<p> <\/p>\n<li>Clicking the link from Photos brings up a list of all Mac apps that integrate with Photos.<\/li>\n<p> <\/p>\n<li>Choose an App and click to download.<\/li>\n<p>\n<\/ol>\n<p>\nIf you&#8217;ve already created a project, accessing a list of available apps is done by going to File &#8211;> Create and choosing the &#8220;More&#8221; App Store option.<\/p>\n<h2>Available Apps<\/h2>\n<p>\nRight now, there are six apps that are offering integration with Photos, but more apps will likely implement compatibility in the future. All of the apps are free, with the exception of the GoodTimes collage maker, which is priced at &#36;19.99.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/cdn.macrumors.com\/article-new\/2017\/09\/photosapps-800x354.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"354\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-593616\" \/><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<h3>Wix<\/h3>\n<p>\nWix is an app that lets you arrange your photos into albums that can be published online on a website using Wix&#8217;s website creation tools. [<a href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/us\/app\/wix-photo-albums\/id1281329434?mt=12\">Direct Link<\/a>]<\/p>\n<h3>Mimeo Photos<\/h3>\n<p>\nMimeo Photos has tools and templates for creating photo books, calendars, and cards with unique layout options and editing tools. [<a href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/us\/app\/mimeo-photos\/id1282504627?mt=12\">Direct Link<\/a>]<\/p>\n<h3>WhiteWall<\/h3>\n<p>\nWhiteWall is for creating photo prints that can be hung on a wall, either solo or in photo arrangements with a wide range of frames and mounting options available. [<a href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/us\/app\/whitewall-for-your-photos\/id1286836110?mt=12\">Direct Link<\/a>]<\/p>\n<h3>Shutterfly Photo Books<\/h3>\n<p>\nShutterfly is for creating photo books using the Shutterfly service, which often has competitive pricing options. [<a href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/us\/app\/shutterfly-photo-books\/id1238865376?mt=12\">Direct Link<\/a>]<\/p>\n<h3>GoodTimes &#8211; Collages<\/h3>\n<p>\nGoodTimes is the sole paid app available for Photos right now, and it costs &#36;19.99. It can be used to create scrapbooking pages, photo arrangements, and photo collages. [<a href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/us\/app\/goodtimes-collages\/id581954148?mt=12\">Direct Link<\/a>]<\/p>\n<h3>Mpix Photo Prints<\/h3>\n<p>\nMpix lets you create standard prints, framed prints, metal prints, canvas prints, wood prints, collages, posters, cards, and a wide range of other projects. [<a href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/us\/app\/mpix-photo-prints\/id1282488470?mt=12\">Direct Link<\/a>]<\/p>\n<h2>Using an App to Make a Project<\/h2>\n<p><\/p>\n<ol>\n <\/p>\n<li>Open the Photos app.<\/li>\n<p> <\/p>\n<li>In the Photos menu bar, choose File &#8211;> Create<\/li>\n<p> <\/p>\n<li>Under Create, choose the third-party app you want to use for your project.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/cdn.macrumors.com\/article-new\/2017\/09\/photoscreatingproject-800x392.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"392\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-593612\" \/><\/li>\n<p> <\/p>\n<li>Click done.<\/li>\n<p> <\/p>\n<li>Drag photos from your Photo Library to the Project.
