Oh no, I skip my October post! This is mainly because… I fell ill. It all started when I noticed that I’d feel a burning sensation in my heel whenever I wake up and step on the floor in the morning. But the pain subsides in the afternoon and night. But, the next morning, the pain comes AGAIN. Until one day, I woke up and I found myself couldn’t walk at all! It was the scariest moment ever! I thought I was paralyzed! I went to see the doc with the help of my husband and was diagnosed with PLANTAR FASCIITIS. Basically, plantar fasciitis is an inflammation of the fibrous tissue (plantar fascia) along the bottom of the foot that connects our heel bone to our toes. It can cause severe heel pain. In my case, I couldn’t walk at all. I cried so so so bad because the pain was really excruciating. According to the doc, I used my feet too much and I was like are you sure Doc? I thought walking is good? Well the Doc said, you are a different case. HAHA. I was given some medicines and was asked to go for physiotherapy treatment. My right foot (thank god it’s only right foot that was affected) became swollen. I religiously consume all the meds and went for PT, but somehow it didn’t get any better. I had to be on a wheelchair twice and I had to use a cane for a week. It was definitely one of the most challenging moments in my life.

I went to see altogether 6 different doctors and 4 of them actually ehem advised me to lose weight! Well, yes, plantar fasciitis can also affect slim people but those who are overweight like yours truly will be greatly affected by the pressure whenever you are walking or standing. Hence, I decided to lose some kilos and Alhamdulillah, my foot is getting better. My latest check up was on Sunday 11/11 and the doc confirmed that my plantar fasciitis is getting better. She just prescribed me some meds to loosen my muscle and tendon because she said I’ve been sick for quite sometime that my muscle has become stiff. Alhamdulillah, I’m getting better and I have to really minimize my movement if I want to get healthy fast.
