Alhamdulillah, all praises to Allah. Yesterday, I had what it seemed the longest 10-minute interview in my life but all went well. I was so nervous yesterday. Had a rather bad interview experience in early 2017. I was so afraid I’ll face the same situation. But Allah is all knowing. The bad experience teaches me how to hold my head up high. Anyway, some of the matters asked during the interview were:
What do you think of UTM synergy?
What is the relevance of NALI?
What do you know about TNE?
Publications that you have done
I was able to answer all questions given. I also realized that even though we (GBs) are not required to write papers and be active in research, the panel apparently think otherwise. They would want to know what have you done indifferently or something extra than what you are supposed to do. I am glad that I did all those things even though I used to doubt myself. Thinking like ‘Why do I need to do this? Friends, let me tell you this, the rewards will come later if not that soon. Because of the research and publications that I’ve done, I was well-received during the interview. Let’s take up this publication challenge, folks!
And I also learned that, do not think too much about the interview. Before I went, I was told by my superior that I might get questions about my workload, leadership and etc. But, at the end of the day, it depends. Not a single question on that matters. So, you don’t have to be too stressed out (like me, haha). Pray to Allah to ease your journey. InsyaAllah everything will be okay. Reiterating TNCA’s words, ‘When you are called for this interview at this level, you have won half of the battle already!’. The rest is for you to convince them that you deserve the promotion! Good luck my friends!
