8 APRIL 2018<\/strong> ULAB3162<\/strong> Students were given 5 different situations for the negotiation assessment. They were required to practise all five situations as they would only know their specific situation before the assessment start. Pros: Situations were simple and straightforward. Cons: Students didn’t have much input on the situation due to lack of information.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n I find it not very THAT challenging. Therefore, I decided to try a new approach. I did some readings and found a journal on negotiation. Basically, this is my plan for this semester.<\/span><\/p>\n All students will be given one situation only. They will work in a group of four (2 Vs 2). However, this situation has a fixed setting with the necessary information. The students will be given a case study and they are required to study the background and setting of the case a week before the assessment takes place. They are required to list all possible solutions for their own and also the other party’s side. Achieving BATNA<\/strong> is the main goal for this negotiation assessment.<\/span><\/p>\n I am looking forward to having this session. I hope this new approach will make the learning more meaningful.
