{"id":4516,"date":"2018-09-06T10:43:05","date_gmt":"2018-09-06T02:43:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/people.utm.my\/azlans\/?p=4516"},"modified":"2018-09-06T10:43:05","modified_gmt":"2018-09-06T02:43:05","slug":"142-participation-for-sepka-iseed-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/people.utm.my\/azlans\/142-participation-for-sepka-iseed-2018\/","title":{"rendered":"142 participation for SEPKA-ISEED 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<header class=\"entry-header\">\n<p class=\"entry-meta\">August 29, 2018\u00a0by\u00a0<span class=\"entry-author\"><a class=\"entry-author-link\" href=\"https:\/\/news.utm.my\/author\/hafizan\/\" rel=\"author\"><span class=\"entry-author-name\">Hafizan Hamzah<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<\/header>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p>JOHOR BAHRU, 27 August 2018 \u2013 As many as 142 participants from Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, Indonesia and Saudi Arabia have attended the 12th International Civil Engineering Post Graduate Conference (SEPKA) and 3rd International Symposium on Expertise of Engineering Design (ISEED) conferences.<br \/>\nThe SEPKA-ISEED\u201918 was held at Le Grandeur Palm Resort, Senai, Johor and officiated by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Development), Prof. Dr. Azlan Abdul Rahman.<br \/>\nThe Chairman of SEPKA\u201918, Dr. Mohamad Hidayat Jamal said that SEPKA-ISEED\u201918 was the second international joint conference between School of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering UTM and National Institute of Technology (NIT), Kogoshima College, Japan.<br \/>\n\u201cThe theme for this year\u2019s conference is \u2018Spectrum of Opportunities\u2019 which expressed a wide range of engineering breakthrough in terms of approaches and methods, advanced technology, professionalization, experiences and culture.<br \/>\n\u201cThis joint conference will provide an exchange platforms for the participants from different backgrounds to meet and share ideas, achievements as well as experiences through the presentations and discussion,\u201d he said.<br \/>\nDr. Mohamad Hidayat said along the theme \u2018Spectrum of Opportunities\u2019, the SEPKA-ISEED\u201918 has invited four distinguished keynote speakers, Ir. Frankie Cheah, Geotechnical engineer from AECOM, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sharifah Kamilah Syed Yusof, School of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering UTM, Prof. Shigeki Uemura from National Institute of Technology (NIT), Kisarazu Collage, Japan and Dr. Hidayat himself.<br \/>\n\u201cThese events are important to promote and encourage the application of new techniques to practitioners as well as enhancing the knowledge of participants with the current requirements of analysis, design and development of any science and technology project worldwide,\u201d said Dr. Hidayat.<br \/>\nAbout 142 papers will be presented by the participants from 14 institutions of the five countries mentioned above in this two-day programme.<br \/>\nAlso attending the launching ceremony were Prof. Dr. Khairul Anuar Kassim, Chairman of School of Civil Engineering UTM, Prof. Choji Tetsuji, President of NIT, Kogoshima College and Prof. Takashi Tsutsumi, Chairman of ISEED\u201918 and Professor at NIT, Kogoshima College, Japan.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_36530\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-36530\" src=\"https:\/\/news.utm.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/SEPKA-ISEED18-2-1-551x294.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"551\" height=\"294\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Prof. Azlan Abd.
