Prof. Dr. Sharidan bin Shafie from Faculty of Science.<\/p>\n<p>Prof Dr Zainal Salam from School of Electrical Engineering (SKE) was selected as the Frontier Researcher, and\u00a0Dr Tan Chee Wei, also from SKE was awarded in the High Impact Paper category.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile Prof Ir Dr Sharifah Rafidah binti Wan Alwi from SKT and Assoc Prof Dr Nor Azwadi bin Che Sidik from\u00a0Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT) were the winners for\u00a0Young Researchers.<\/p>\n<p>The Malaysia Research Star Awards were held at the Sama Sama Hotel in Kuala Lumpur on 25<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0October 2018,\u00a0 and was graced by the Ministry of Education (MoE)\u00a0 Secretary General, Dato\u2019 Dr. Mohd Gazali Abas.<\/p>\n<div class=\"text_exposed_show\">\n<p>The awards also recognised Malaysia\u2019s most promising and influential researchers, and the winners\u00a0were chosen based on a combination of research metrics from Elsevier\u2019s Scopus and qualitative factors.<\/p>\n<p>The award recipients span a variety of research disciplines such as engineering, agricultural sciences, materials science, chemistry, social sciences and environment\/ecology.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>For the 2018 Malaysia Research Star Awards, Elsevier has worked closely with MOE to recognize a total of 18 researchers in 4 award categories.<\/p>\n<p>Congratulations to all award recipients.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_38550\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-38550 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/news.utm.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/Picture3-e1542531661957-551x392.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"551\" height=\"392\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Prof. Datuk Dr. Ahmad Fauzi received the awards<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"attachment_38551\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-38551 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/news.utm.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/Picture4-1-551x269.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"551\" height=\"269\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Congratulations UTM researchers!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-38552 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/news.utm.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/Picture1-389x551.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"389\" height=\"551\" \/><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>November 18, 2018\u00a0by\u00a0Nor Hidayati Mokhtar KUALA LUMPUR, 25 Oct. \u2013 Kudos to our researchers !
