Teaching

This page is all about my teaching experience and teaching activities. These are lists of subject that had been taught by me for the last couples of semesters

  • SKEE446 High Voltage Technology
  • SEEU1023 Circuit Theory
  • SEEE1012 Introduction to Electrical Engineering

SKEE 4463 HIGH VOLTAGE TECHNOLOGY

Come and join me in this course. Here you will be introduced to the beauty of high voltage studies and its application. Enhance your knowledge on high voltage engineering and technologies. You will be exposed to the concept and theory of insulation breakdown. Key principles of high voltage technology and insulation coordination as well as insulation testing (including high voltage generators) are also covered. Lightning overvoltages due to the naturally occurring atmospheric phenomenon are a nuisance to the network and will be discussed along with switching surges. Various types of electrical discharges, some of which are used for condition monitoring applications, are also discussed. The student is expected to be able to understand basic concept of high voltage engineering and apply this fundamental concept in designing solution for complex high voltage engineering problems.

CIRCUIT THEORY SEEE1023/2033

This course introduces students to the basic laws, concept of series and parallel circuits, method of analysis and theorems for direct current, DC and alternating current, AC circuit. For example the concept of Ohm’s Law, Kirchoff’s Current and Voltage Laws, Mesh and Nodal Analysis and Thevenin and Norton theorems. It is hoped that with the knowledge gained in this course, student will be able to solve a simple DC and AC circuit analsysis.

Circuit theory is well known as one of the killer subject offered by SKE, however, if you really understand the concept and with lots of practices, you’ll find that this subject isn’t that difficult. All you need is to stay focus in class and ask your teacher whenever you find it difficult to follow or understand. And do not forget your exercises…remember, practice makes perfect! 🙂
