30 July 2025 – JKR Malaysia; A key review session for the specifications and guidelines of Interlocking Concrete Paving Blocks (ICPB) was successfully conducted and continued in the next meeting session. The session, which was a crucial step in advancing road infrastructure standards, saw participation from a wide array of agencies and organizations. Among the attendees were Bahagian Rekabentuk Jalan Zon Utara, JKR Bahagian Pengurusan Projek 3, JKR Bahagian Kuaters Kerajaan, Bahagian Kejuruteraan Forensik Jalan, and Bahagian Pemulihan Jalan.

The session also included representatives from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Jabatan Pengangkutan Bandar Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur, Majlis Bandaraya Petaling Jaya, Majlis Bandaraya Shah Alam, Majlis Bandaraya Kajang, as well as key industry players such as Ikram Pave SB and Sunway Solution Sdn Bhd.

The primary focus of the review was on the REAM (Road Engineering Association Malaysia) specifications, which provide guidelines for the design and implementation of ICPB in road construction and urban planning. Experts discussed the technical and material aspects of the paving blocks, including their durability, load-bearing capabilities, and performance in diverse environmental conditions.

This collaborative effort highlighted the importance of developing high-quality, sustainable paving solutions that align with modern infrastructure demands, contributing to the overall improvement of urban transportation and road rehabilitation projects. The successful session marks a significant step forward in advancing paving technologies and ensuring that future road projects meet both practical and environmental standards.
