Assalamualaikum wbt & Good Day!

My name is Farah Akmar binti Anor Salim, and I was born on November 23rd. I hail from Teluk Intan, a delightful town in Perak, Malaysia where I spent my early years. Subsequently, when my late father retired, we established our residence in Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia the very place where my father was both born and raised. I’m a person of varied interests. I find joy in reading books, exploring new places through travel, and whipping up delicious dishes in the kitchen.

On the personal front, I’m happily married and blessed with three wonderful children. My educational journey has been quite fulfilling. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Business with a minor in Entrepreneurship from SIU in the USA. Following that, I pursued a Master’s degree in Management with a minor in Entrepreneurship. My academic journey culminated in a PhD in Business Administration with a specialization in entrepreneurship from IIUM.

When it comes to my personality, I’m a bit of an introvert by nature, but I can switch to being extroverted when the occasion calls for it. I’m friendly, but I do choose my friends carefully. My cultural and ethnic identity is rooted in my Muslim faith, which is an essential part of who I am.

In life, I firmly believe that with passion, dedication, and a positive mindset, anything is achievable. I always advocate giving your best effort rather than giving up prematurely when faced with challenges. To me, when you’re entrusted with a task, it’s a sign of trust from others, and ultimately, I believe that ALLAH knows what’s best for us. Negative vibes and pessimism are not my cup of tea; I prefer to focus on the positive.

One of my life’s highlights is my experience studying in the United States. I share this not to boast but to show that with determination, even if you don’t start with straight A’s, you can climb to the top. I want to inspire others, especially those with low motivation and self-esteem because I’ve been there myself.

In terms of humor, I appreciate the simple and elegant things in life. My quirks and habits revolve around reading, cooking, and traveling. When it comes to books, I’m drawn to those that inspire and offer new knowledge. I enjoy romantic comedies when it comes to movies and prefer relaxed, R&B, and slow rock music.

My journey towards my PhD was far from easy. I undertook it while balancing a full-time job and looking after my three young children without the assistance of a helper. Tragically, I lost my father during this period, someone who had been a significant motivator for my academic pursuits. There were times when I came close to surrendering, but thanks to my unwavering resolve and the encouragement from my cherished husband, mother, siblings, children, and the heartfelt prayers of my close friends, along with the guidance of divine providence, I successfully overcame the hurdles, alhamdulillah. I completed my PhD with minor corrections during my viva, proving that with perseverance, anything is possible.

I might not be sure about my specific skills, but I do consider myself quite adept at multitasking. My personal philosophy is to abhor procrastination and not waste time, especially when waiting for extended periods. I strive to complete tasks efficiently without compromising on quality.

In conclusion, I’m just a simple person enriched by the love of my husband, children, parents, and two brothers. I feel truly blessed for the person I’ve become and the journey I’ve undertaken in my humble life 🙂

Wallahualam.
