{"id":1157,"date":"2019-06-02T07:53:42","date_gmt":"2019-06-01T23:53:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/people.utm.my\/hadijahjaffri\/?p=1157"},"modified":"2019-06-02T18:08:19","modified_gmt":"2019-06-02T10:08:19","slug":"i-learn-to-enjoy-life-from-her","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/people.utm.my\/hadijahjaffri\/i-learn-to-enjoy-life-from-her\/","title":{"rendered":"You add colors to my life"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/people.utm.my\/hadijahjaffri\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/743\/2019\/06\/min-and-i.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1087 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/people.utm.my\/hadijahjaffri\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/743\/2019\/06\/min-and-i-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/people.utm.my\/hadijahjaffri\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/743\/2019\/06\/min-and-i-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/people.utm.my\/hadijahjaffri\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/743\/2019\/06\/min-and-i.jpg 448w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">I could be perceived as someone who is uptight and serious.\u00a0 I do admit that I don&#8217;t know how to have &#8220;fun&#8221;.\u00a0 But things change when I went to Durham and I met a bunch of people who are fun, playful and yet they are committed in their work (they are also academically excellent).\u00a0 I don&#8217;t know how they can strike a balance to have fun and at the same time stay focused in their study.\u00a0 But, I learn a great deal from them.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">One of those individuals are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ohio.edu\/research\/communications\/news-announcements\/news-story.cfm?newsItem=42293D28-5056-A81E-8D8F4F88DFE77ADE\">Yasmin Ahmad Rusli, f<\/a>ondly known as Min.\u00a0 Min is an exceptional lady.\u00a0 When she pursued her masters degree in Durham, she had a long distance relationship with her husband, Samir.\u00a0 But, from her story and all, I learn to know about Samir even though I never met him before.\u00a0 I met Samir once when he came to Durham in summer 2008 (Min and Samir went to Paris after that for a short holiday).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">The picture was taken when we went to York for a shopping spree.\u00a0 We bought quite a lot of things.\u00a0 It is not that we intently wanted to splurge like that but for me, I bought some of cookery thingy (that I still have and use until now) and clothes (which I could no longer wear because the clothes are no longer fit.\u00a0 I have gained weight since then).\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">When I look at this picture, Min and I looked so happy.\u00a0 Indeed.\u00a0 Min is one of my best confidantes when I was in Durham.\u00a0 We shared some ups and downs especially when we had a problem with our housemate of no 12 Steavenson Street.\u00a0 But things changed for the better afterwards when I moved to no 60 Steavenson Street, Bowburn.\u00a0 Thing happens for a reason.\u00a0 Alhamdulillah Allah Gives me a friend like Min to share my woes and happiness.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Indeed it is true that &#8220;<strong>A true friend is someone who thinks that you are a good egg even though he knows that you are slightly cracked<\/strong>&#8220;- <strong>Bernard Meltzer-<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I could be perceived as someone who is uptight and serious.\u00a0 I do admit that I don&#8217;t know how to have &#8220;fun&#8221;.\u00a0 But things change when I went to Durham and I met a bunch of people who are fun, playful and yet they are committed in their work (they are also academically excellent).\u00a0 I &hellip;
