<\/span>Overview<\/b>
\n<\/span>
\nACM IUI 2017 is the 22nd annual meeting of the intelligent interfaces
\ncommunity and serves as a premier international forum for reporting
\noutstanding research and development on intelligent user interfaces.<\/p>\n

The 22nd edition of the conference will be held in Limassol, Cyprus.
\n<\/span>Limassol (or Lemesos) is a multicultural bustling town, flanked by two
\nancient cities, Amathus and Kourion, and guarded by the Amathusian
\nAphrodite and Appolo Hylates. It is a town of great visual diversity and
\ncontrast from spectacular seafront views, historic places like the mediaeval
\nCastle, and Byzantine churches. <\/span>Along the 17 km long sandy beaches, two
\nMarinas, world renowned\u00a05 star hotels, and a most exciting dining, shopping,
\nnightlife and yachting scene create a year-round vibrant lifestyle well beyond
\nthe expectations of a Mediterranean island.<\/span><\/p>\n

ACM IUI is where the Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) community meets
\nthe Artificial Intelligence (AI), with contributions from related fields such as
\npsychology, behavioral science, cognitive science, computer graphics, design
\nor the arts. Our focus is to improve the interaction between humans and
\nmachines, by leveraging both more traditional HCI approaches, as well as
\nsolutions that involve state-of-the art AI techniques such as machine
\nlearning, natural language processing, data mining, knowledge
\nrepresentation and reasoning. ACM IUI welcomes contribution from any
\nrelevant arena: academia, business, or non-profit organizations.<\/p>\n

IUI 2017 is pleased to invite tutorial proposals. Tutorials offer the community
\nan opportunity to learn about the state-of-the-art concepts and techniques
\nand allow the presenters to share their expertise. We invite proposals from
\nactive researchers and experienced presenters. Ideally, a tutorial will cover
\nthe state-of-the-art research and development in a specific area strongly
\nrelated to IUI. Tutorials on interdisciplinary areas, novel or fast growing
\ndirections, and significant practical applications are also encouraged.<\/p>\n

Each accepted tutorial will receive one free IUI 2017 registration.<\/p>\n

<\/span>Submission Guidelines
\n<\/b><\/span>
\nThe proposals should be PDF documents not exceeding 3 pages, submitted
\nby e-mail to the tutorial chairs at: tutorial2017@iui.acm.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n

We encourage prospective presenters to contact the tutorial chairs in
\nadvance and discuss their tutorial ideas. Each tutorial proposal should
\nprovide the following information:<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Name and title: Your name, the tutorial title and the expected length of
\nyour tutorial (up to half a day).<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Description of tutorial topic and goal: Detailed outline of the tutorial,
\nalong with descriptions of the objectives, its relevance to IUI, benefits
\nto the attendees, and course materials\/handouts (links to online
\nmaterials encouraged).<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Organizers: Name, email address, and affiliation of each presenter. Note
\nthat each listed presenter must register for the conference and be
\npresent at the tutorial.<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Target audience and prerequisites: Target audience level (introductory,
\nintermediate, advanced) and prerequisite knowledge or skills.<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Experience: Tutors’ short bios and their expertise related to the tutorial,
\nincluding history of previously given tutorials.<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Equipment and software requirement: please list any that will be needed.<\/p>\n
