JOHOR BAHRU, 20 September 2016 – Three academicians and researchers from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) have won awards from several categories in the International University Carnival on E-Learning (IUCEL) 2016.
They were Rozita Abdul Jalil, Dr. Zaleha Abdullah and Prof. Dr. Rose Alinda Alias. All of them received their awards from the Director of UTMLead, Assoc. Prof. Hayati Abdullah after the launching ceremony of IUCEL 2016 held at Dewan Sultan Iskandar, UTM Johor Bahru.
Rozita Abdul Jalil was given the Creative and Interactive E-Learning (Mobile Application) Award for her project titled ‘Mobile based Numeracylearning Applications’ (RMATHS) while Dr. Zaleha Abdullah received the Creative E-Learning Award with her project titled ‘UTM-MIT Blossoms’.
Both Dr. Zaleha and Rozita won their respective awards which were placed under the product category, while Prof. Dr. Rose Alinda Alias won the most prestigious award, the Higher Education E-Learning MAESTRO Award, an award presented to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the development of e-Learning in higher education.
This programme, previously known as the National University Carnival on e-Learning (NUCEL), was organized by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, in collaboration with The Malaysian e-Learning Council for Public Universities (MEIPTA).
IUCEL 2016 was a showcase of e-Learning technologies, products and best practices to empower teaching and learning innovation with more than 150 participants from the public and private Higher Learning institutions taking part in the Invention, Innovation and Design on eLearning (IIDEL) Exhibition and Competition.
