JOHOR BAHRU, 26 September 2016 – A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and the National Institute of Technology Kagoshima College (NITKC) from Japan to allow for international research and academic collaboration.
The MoU was signed by Deputy Vice Chancellor of Research and Innovation, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Fauzi Ismail while the NIT Kagoshima College (NITKC) was represented by its President, Prof. Chohji Tetsuji at the UTM Training Centre in conjunction with The 11th International Civil Engineering Post Graduate Conference and The 1st International Symposium on Expertise of Engineering Design (SEPKA-ISEED) 2016.
Among the scope of collaboration agreed were the development and upgrading of academic programmes, to conduct staff mobility programmes such as research attachments, post-doctoral appointments and research discussions.
Both sides also agreed to conduct student mobility programmes such as student exchange, practical training, short courses, summer school, internships and global outreach programmes besides doing high impact research and development through the international network of expertise.
Also attending the ceremony were the Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Prof. Dr. Khairul Anuar Kassim and Project Coordinator, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nazri Ali.
