JOHOR BAHRU, 12 Ocotber 2016 – Two students from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) under the guidance of UTMTEC have won the Gold Award at the 2016 International Invention Innovation Competition in Canada, iCAN 2016.

UTM was represented by student team, TOLKIDZ comprising Logaiswari Indiran and Liew Foong Ching from Faculty of Management. TOLKIDZ proposed a special wearable for special children which indicate the children’s state of emotions.

iCAN 2016 is organized by Toronto International Society of Innovation and Advanced Skills (TISIAS) and supported by the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA), the World Invention Intellectual Property Associations (WIIPA), and Innovation Initiative Co-operative (IIC). The exhibition and award ceremony was held on August 27th at North York Memorial Community Hall in Toronto, Canada.

iCAN 2016 is arguably the first ever international competition of creative ideas and innovation projects, serving as a brand-new platform of opportunities for the overseas participants to showcase some of the finest inventions, innovative and scientific research outcomes and new products and technologies on the international level in Canada.
