Sharing session : Multimedia: Kenapa Semua Pekerja Pejabat perlu Tahu?

Hi there, welcome back to my blog! The good thing is I am still continue writing on this blog but I just can’t remember whether this is the 1st entry for 2022 or there is already a post for this year. Deng! See..that’s what I mean when I put my effort during working hours with post-production job mostly back at the studio. But when there is a chance given to you to talk something about your expertise in Multimedia, for sure I wouldn’t want to miss it!

So I have this friend at the Library of UTM who have given me the opportunity to talk on the importance of Multimedia at the office and why it matters to all of employees. As usual we setup an online meeting a month before the actual talk to get more information on his perspective that could help me plan with the presentation. And yes, he’s the guy you could rely on when talking about Multimedia and how to make it happen. I guess that’s the advantage of him having a Master’s Degree and of course the experience in managing Multimedia projects from time to time. A big thanks to you Mr. Fuad for your opinion on this matter!

The live streaming session was successful according to me and I get to talk alone for about 45 minutes. Though I’d love to answer any question during my presentation at that moment, but the Q&A session was incredibly beyond my expectation. You see, the participants have their own unique question that requires more than knowledge to answer them. That’s when your experience came in hand!

I mainly touched on the making of video montage and how it matters to all of us especially before the project started i.e. time frame, ideas, storyboard that sort of thing. You see when we always use the word ‘montage’ to every launching ceremony of product or services, it sounded very natural and pleases the audience when they watch the video till the end. It almost feels like there’s nothing to be think of when you were given a job to create a video montage. So there I am babbling on how to visualise client’s idea and turn it into a storyboard before the editing process could start. But I must confess one thing dear readers, almost every video montage ended as a picture slideshow with a bunch of text regarding the event/program and that’s the way on how to get things done. As long as there is no complaint from the client, then it’s OK.

So here is an example of a montage creation by using a template from envato.com. As you can see these are pre-made template that can be used instantly in your so called “montage creation”.

I also did mention in my talk where timeline and idea are the main thing to consider before you could proceed to the next stage of designing the montage. And why is it important? Because sometimes and all the times when your client telling you their idea to create a video montage, it’s kind of a rare situation where they wanted something so unique that could challenge your mind and creativity. Every now and then the nearest term of what they called montage in their own way of understanding is that, a slideshow of moving photos on the screen with a suitable background song. There you go! And yes it’s very easy to execute the project. But do you think that a montage should really look and feel like a bunch of photos moving on the screen with a background song? I leave the answer to you.
