It has been so long I didn’t update any posting here on my blog. But today I’m very excited to share my experience attending the Malaysia AI Nexus 2024 held on May 9-10 at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTC KL). This event promises to be a significant gathering of AI enthusiasts, experts, and innovators from across the globe, and our department was thrilled to be part of it.<\/p>\n My adventure began with a carpooling trip with my manager from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in Johor Bahru. When he suggested we carpool, I agreed without hesitation. It turned out to be a great decision. Not only did it save us from the hassle of solo travel, but it also provided an excellent opportunity to bond and discuss our expectations for the event.<\/p>\n Our ride was a sleek Volkswagen Tiguan, and my manager, who is quite the experienced driver, confidently cruised at speeds of up to 150 km\/h. Surprisingly, I felt incredibly safe despite the high speed, which I attribute to both his driving skills and the Tiguan’s robust build. We had engaging conversations ranging from our department’s latest projects to the future of AI in Malaysia. Time flew by, and before we knew it, we had arrived in Kuala Lumpur.<\/p>\n Upon reaching the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur, we were greeted by the bustling atmosphere typical of such large-scale events. However, there was a slight hitch \u2013 our exhibition booth was still under renovation by the contractor. While this was initially disappointing, it gave us some unexpected free time to explore the venue, network with other early arrivals, and even catch a quick coffee.<\/p>\n The anticipation for the event was palpable. Watching the last-minute preparations unfold, I felt a surge of excitement for what lay ahead. This year’s AI Nexus promises to be a groundbreaking event with insightful sessions, innovative displays, and ample networking opportunities.<\/p>\n As we await the official start of Malaysia AI Nexus 2024, I can’t help but feel a sense of pride and excitement. Representing CMLT at such a prestigious event is an honor, and I’m eager to learn, share our work, and make valuable connections.
