Dr. Kamarizan bin Kidam
Dr. Kamarizan is senior lecturer at the School of Chemical & Energy Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) since 2004. He received his Doctorate from Plant Design Research Group, Aalto University School of Chemical Technology, Finland.
Previously, Dr. Kamarizan is an occupational safety and health practitioner and a competent person as Safety and Health Officer under OSHA 1994. He has more than 10 years’ experience as SHE Engineer in the industry. His expertise covers risk management, loss prevention and safe by design. He is also well-versed in the latest legislation and standards applicable in Malaysia and internationally. In addition, he has vast experiences in development, management, implementation, and administration on all matters related to occupational safety, health and environment (OSHE).
Currently he is actively involved in the OSHE consultancy with various government departments & agencies including Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH Malaysia), Social Security Organization (SOCSO Malaysia) and Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB Malaysia). He is one of the key consultants for the development of Malaysia’s Occupational Safety and Health Master Plan 2021-2025, with DOSH Malaysia. His on-going projects since 2019 to recent is related to Vision Zero coaching and implementation for the industry, especially in the small medium enterprises (SMEs), where he is responsible to coach and promote safety and health at their workplaces. His current consultancy is in-line with the Vision Zero motivation towards zero accidents at workplace, via effective OSH management and implementation at workplace.
He is currently held a position as Director of Product Development and Services at Unbox Resources Sdn Bhd, a UTM Spin-Off company and is actively involves in training and consultancy for the industry mainly regarding OSHE and Process Safety Management.
