The visit also connected UTM with key global institutions and industry stakeholders in marine geospatial technology. Key highlights included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Technical visit to Qingdao Tidal Benchmark Station<\/strong>, the reference point for China\u2019s National Vertical Datum 1985.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Industry engagements<\/strong> with Beijing Hydro-Tech Marine Technology Co. Ltd. (MBES &amp; SSS sea trials) and Qingdao Yuehai Information Services Ltd. (marine GIS and big-data solutions).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Exploration of maritime heritage<\/strong> at the Qingdao Naval Museum, linking naval history with modern hydrographic relevance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"602\" height=\"401\" src=\"https:\/\/people.utm.my\/kelvin\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3311\/2025\/11\/Picture10.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2379\" style=\"width:670px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/people.utm.my\/kelvin\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3311\/2025\/11\/Picture10.jpg 602w, https:\/\/people.utm.my\/kelvin\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3311\/2025\/11\/Picture10-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 602px) 100vw, 602px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The IBSC Stakeholder Workshop 2025 brought together 12 local and international agencies and organizations, strengthening global cooperation aimed at elevating standards and competence in hydrographic surveying education.
