Scholarship for one M.Sc. student in the field of nuclear theory is now open for application. Candidates must be of Malaysian nationality and have at least a basic degree in either physics or mathematics. The candidates are expected to be well versed in basic quantum mechanics and having good computational skills. Proficiency in English language, both oral and written, is ideal but not mandatory.
The successful candidate will be working on a research topic pertaining to the application of mean-field approach to nuclear structure and nuclear astrophysics. The research project will be part of an on-going research collaboration with theoretical group in Center of Nuclear Studies Bordeaux-Gradignan.
Successful candidate will receive an allowance of RM 1200 – RM 1500 per month subjected to a review of research progress at the end of each semester. When selected, the candidate is to register as a student in the Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia under the Master of Philosophy (research) program.
The candidate is expected to complete his/her M.Sc. study within 1 and a half year after which no scholarship will be provided. The candidate should start his/her study ideally by October 2019. Interested applicants are invited to submit the following documents by email to kmhock@utm.my:
