He holds a PhD (Doctor of Engineering in Marine Transportation and Environmental System) from Hiroshima University, Japan, Master of Science (MSc) in Ship and Offshore Engineering (UTM) and Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering\u2013Marine Technology (UTM). He is also a member of The Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (SNAME) USA, member of Japan Society Naval Architects and Ocean Engineers (JASNAOE) and associate member of Royal Institution Naval Architects (RINA) UK.\u00a0 Currently, the research works are on the study of ship maneuvering motion in calm water, regular waves and irregular waves of small boat and large ship. Previously before joined lecturing field in UTM, Dr Amirul has served as Coordinator in the Project Procurement Management and Strategic Sourcing department under Supply Chain Management division in Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering Sdn. Bhd., and has sound experience in the procurement coordination and tender works activities that related to Oil &amp; Gas project and yards.
