It also deals with design of separation operations using mass transfer principles.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"152\">Course Outcomes<\/td>\n<td width=\"16\">:<\/td>\n<td width=\"499\">By the end of the course, students should be able to:<\/p>\n<p>i. \u00a0Explain the differences of unit operation involved in the chemical industries<\/p>\n<p>ii. Calculate the number of equilibrium stages for plate tower or height\/diameter for packed tower in gas-liquid separation<\/p>\n<p>iii. Compare the number of equilibrium stages obtained by graphically and mathematically in absorption or distillation process<\/p>\n<p>iv.\u00a0 Design a distillation column for binary mixture or multi-component system using McCabe Thiele method or short-cut design respectively.<\/p>\n<p>v. Determine the number of equilibrium stages and the composition of solute leaving for liquid-liquid extraction and solid- liquid extraction<\/p>\n<p>vi.
