About Me

Faiz Shakhih

Hi, I am Dr. Muhammad Faiz Md Shakhih, a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Biomedical Engineering and Health Sciences at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). My academic background is founded on a blend of medicine and engineering. I earned a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the Royal College of Surgeons, Ireland, complemented by a Master’s and Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from UTM. I am currently actively involved in teaching core subjects to our biomedical engineering students, including anatomy, physiology, rehabilitation, and engineering laboratory subjects. My primary research interests are dedicated to advancing biosensing technology, human physiological performance, and developing practical assistive device aimed at enhancing health monitoring and quality of life. Outside my academic work, I’m an avid supporter of Manchester City and JDT, and I particularly love watching the knockouts and submissions in UFC fights on Sunday mornings.
