Stump Skin Thermographic Evaluation

by | Oct 1, 2025 | Uncategorized

We completed testing for Kedidi Global Sdn Bhd, a company that makes affordable, flexible, and ready-made prosthetic leg sockets. This study was important because it provided objective data needed to directly improve the comfort and design of the prosthetic sockets for amputee users. Our investigation focused on using thermal imaging (skin thermal profiling) to capture and analyze the temperature changes of the residual limb (stump) immediately after the prosthetic leg was used. This method allowed us to accurately map and identify the specific points where friction and pressure build up against the socket material, which are the main causes of discomfort and skin issues. The resulting data will be directly applied by Kedidi Global Sdn Bhd to refine their designs, leading to better-fitting products and better quality of life for their customers.
