UTM PAGOH WON TWO GOLD, ONE SILVER AND TWO BRONZE MEDALS AT RITEC 2019
Congratulations to UTM Pagoh academic staffs and researchers led by Dr. Cheng Kian Kai secured an impressive win of two gold, one silver and two bronze medals at the 2nd Research and Innovative Technology Competition (RITEC) organized by Universiti Tun Hussien Onn (UTHM). Medals were presented by Honorable Tuan Haji Aminolhuda Haji Hassan, Chairman of the Education, Human Resources, Science and Technology Committee State of Johor.
Research project on Symbiotic cube cultivation system for sustainable farming led by Dr. Cheng won the gold medal in Innovative Product Research Category. Meanwhile, Dr. Nicole Leong Hong Yeng won a gold medal in Fundamental Research Category for her research on Carbon flow model of a vegetable farm system.
In addition, a research project on Inhibition of cyclooxygenase and lipoxygenase activities of Momordica charantia by Dr. Cheng won silver medal while Dr. Nor Zalina secured two bronze medals for her research projects on Preservation of sensory attributes and nutrients of dried chili (Capsicum annum) using pre-treatment for pilot scale vacuum tray dryer (VTD) and Encapsulated probiotic bacteria as additive in animal feed.
