Teaching Philosophy

Four pillars of self-leadership consist of knowing who you are, knowing what you do, knowing what you need to learn and using what you know. In order to develop my personal leadership development plan, I need to identify which areas that I excel and which areas that I need to improve.
Self-Assessment:
1. Strength
a. I have positive outlook on most of the things where I believe that everything happen is by the will of Allah and Allah knows what best for me. The only things that I need to focus on is to do the best to my abilities and always pray to Allah to ease my task.
b. Most of the time, I can think strategically to finish provided task.
c. I forge good relationship with team members in the workplace.
d. Keep updated with latest technology in order to increase productivity.
2. Current Goals
a. To provide the best possible education experience to my students.
b. To produce good quality articles for knowledge dissemination.
c. To provide the best possible solutions to the stakeholders in research activities.
3. Areas of Improvement
a. Struggle to focus on and provide good quality of work when there is multiple different task that need to be resolved
b. Public speaking is one of the areas that need to be improve for me
c. Tendency to accept several tasks that may lead to burnout later on.
d. Lacks of due diligence in checking the completed task.
Based on four pillars of self-leadership, my personal leadership plan is:
1. Knowing Who You Are
a. Reaffirm myself believe (doing your very best in what you do as academician and always pray to Allah for the best).
2. Knowing Who You Are
a. Prioritize the important work.
b. Just don’t take all the works that someone pass it to you. Need to learn how to say no.
c. Identify strategic partnerships with seniors and colleagues.
d. Identify mentor to guide on career development.
3. Knowing What You Need to Learn
a. Learn new skills that will contribute to department, faculty and university strategically for examples:
i. Prescriptive analytics for business applications.
ii. Generative AI
iii. Graphic and video design software.
iv. Business Intelligence lifecycle.
4. Using What I know
a. Develop good habit for success (e.g. eat well, sleep well, exercise more often and perform ibadah truthfully)
b. Avoid toxic people and embrace collaborative works with good colleagues.
