IR. TS. DR. MUHAMMAD HANIF RAMLEE

Muhammad Hanif Ramlee is a registered Professional Engineer (PEng) with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), and a Professional Technologist (PTech) with the Malaysian Board of Technologists. He currently serves as the Senior Lecturer in the Department of Biomedical Engineering and Health Sciences, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). He is also led the Rehabilitation Nexus (RehabNex) Research Group, a multi-disciplinary research group under the Health and Wellness Research Alliance, UTM. He obtained his Ph.D. from the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). With around 10 years of teaching and research experience, his research areas include biomechanics, biomaterials, rehabilitation engineering and biomedical design. He has published over 130 international journal articles and 7 book chapters, earning numerous awards both nationally and internationally. In August 2024, he received the Young Researcher Award, during the UTM Citra Karisma award ceremony.

He has reviewed numerous journal papers and conference proceedings, including Annals of Biomedical Engineering, Acta Biomaterialia, Scientific Reports, Heliyon, PlosOne, Frontier in Bioengineering and Biotechnology, Journal of Biomechanics and other Q1 journals. His Scopus H-index is 17, and Google Scholar H-index is 20. With a total of RM 3.8M grants, he led 25 projects and has secured approximately RM 1.5M in research grants as the principal investigator, and co-PI for 27 projects worth RM 2.3M. He holds two patents and 18 copyrights as the leader. Until now, he successfully commercialized his products from his research work and IPRs, worth more than RM200,000 sales.
