This is the Programme Outcome of Biomedical Engineering in the Faculty of Biosciences and Medical Engineering (FBME). Basically, the courses included in the programme should put an emphasis in some of this PO in order to achieve high level education based on requirement by the government and industry.
For example in my course entitled SMBE1313 Statics and Dynamics where I teach first year students, I put my fully attention to the important of PO1 and PO3 and this must be included in my lecture. So basically, it can be related to the Outcome Based Learning (OBE) where the CLO and assessment method must be ‘alligned’ with this PO.
It is a little bit overview of my teaching course:
Statics and dynamics are two fundamental and important subjects to equip undergraduates with the necessary tools to solve biomechanics related problems. This course covers the concepts and principles related to the physical behaviour of materials under static loads and during motion. Emphasis is placed on the importance of satisfying equilibrium, analysing structure, solving resultant of forces, kinematics and kinetics of rigid bodies.
