Within the M\u0101ori culture of New Zealand, however, the placenta is revered and often buried in a place of familial significance. Now one woman&#8217;s Facebook post has spotlighted the ancient tradition and encouraged mothers to share their own stories.<\/p>\n<p>Photographer Emma Jean focuses on capturing births and newborns, stemming from her other profession as a midwife.
