LONDON \u2014 The Channel tunnel connecting England to France may be extended to enable trains to avoid a section of the track in Calais where migrants and refugees have disrupted services<\/p>\n

It’s the first time since the tunnel opened 22 years ago that it’s been extended, The Times<\/em> reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n

There have been multiple intrusions onto the tracks around the tunnel by migrants and refugees living in the nearby makeshift camp known as the “Jungle” as they seek a better life in England.
