SINGAPORE \u2014 Thousands of people across the Southeast Asia region got up bright and early on Wednesday morning to catch a glimpse of a rare solar eclipse.<\/p>\n

The occurrence started at 7.20 a.m. local time and peaked at 8.23 a.m., when 87% of the sun was obscured.<\/p>\n

Amid the awe, witnesses scrambled to document the spectacle and share their experience with the world on social media.<\/p>\n
