Coachella is gettin’ fancy<\/i>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The music festival in Indio, California, kicks off its 17th year on Friday, and while its tried and true features will still be there \u2014 \u00a0the Ferris wheel, the enormous art installations and more flower headbands<\/a> than you ever asked for \u2014 there will also be a ton of shiny new toys meant to prove, like the Tupac hologram did in 2012<\/a>, that\u00a0the festival is still ahead of the tech game.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Organizers have teamed up with\u00a0<\/span>Vantage.tv<\/a>\u00a0to let fans in Indio and abroad experience the festival in virtual reality.\u00a0<\/span>Each festivalgoer has already received his or her own cardboard virtual reality headset. Using the Coachella VR\u00a0<\/span>app \u2014 available for iOS, Android, and Samsung Gear VR \u2014 they can go on tours of festival and campgrounds, see 360-degree photos from previous ears, and watch exclusive interviews with performers including Matt & Kim and Gallant.<\/span> Read more…<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
