Don’t give in to election fatigue just yet \u2014 the 2016 U.S. presidential election isn’t the only race that should be on your radar.<\/span><\/p>\n

Current\u00a0<\/span>United Nations<\/a>\u00a0Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon\u2019s term as leader of the massive intergovernmental organization ends at the close of this year. Starting on Jan. 1, 2017, a new diplomat will be at the helm of the U.N.\u2019s global operations \u2014 and many argue that leader should be a woman.<\/span><\/p>\n

Throughout the 70-year history of the United Nations, only men \u2014 eight total \u2014 have led the organization.
