The film tells the story of Nat Turner, a slave who led a rebellion in Virginia in 1831. The trailer is bleak, but powerful, set to Nina Simone’s “Strange Fruit.”\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Birth<\/i> premiered at Sundance last year to stunning reviews<\/a>, quickly becoming the breakout film of the entire festival and setting a bidding war record<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
