Naming a boat is an art form. Left in the hands of the wrong people, terrible injustices can occur.<\/p>\n

In Britain this year<\/a>, The Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) launched a marketing campaign, called #NameOurShip, to name their newest\u00a0\u00a3200 million research vessel. After an intense election season, the public \u2014 who apparently is deeply invested in boat nomenclature \u2014 voted overwhelmingly in favor of one name. As of Saturday, it appears that the UK may name one of their most prestigious boats: Boaty McBoatface.<\/p>\n
