One of the surprising joys of Better Call Saul<\/em> has (ironically) been the drama\u2019s distance from Breaking Bad<\/em>\u2019s iconic story lines and its patient exploration of Jimmy McGill\u2019s pre-Saul Goodman life. For many Breaking Bad<\/em> mega fans, this slow-burn series may not satisfy their need for bullets, plot twists, and nail-biter moments.<\/p>\n

But what the show creators \u2014 Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould \u2014 have accomplished is something greater: the establishment of a world with characters that can truly stand alone, outside the vast shadows of Walter White and his tipped porkpie hat.<\/p>\n
