Mexico’s\u00a0Popocat\u00e9petl erupted on Monday, spewing lava and ash into the air high above the towering mountain.<\/p>\n

The fiery show was captured in a timelapse video.\u00a0Authorities say the volcanic ash rose nearly two miles into the sky, and the area is still under a heightened alert for further volcanic activity.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the light of day Tuesday morning, the still-erupting volcano struck made for a beautiful sight in the morning light.\u00a0<\/p>\n
